Due to the Kern County fair going to a virtual format there was a need to step up and give the students of our community a real world hands on experience away from the traditional Kern County Fair. This is a massive undertaking and everyones help is greatly apreciated.
The livestock show is open to members of the following organizations; The Wasco FFA Chapter, The Shafter FFA Chapter, The Delano FFA Chapter, as well as the young members of the North Kern 4-H and Maple 4-H. Students can register (here)
The Charles Craig Classic is in Honor of the late Charles Craig who served as an Agriculture Instructor for many years in the Wasco Union High School District. During his time in service to the district, Mr. Craig overcame many obstacles that would have otherwise prevented students from experiencing hands-on learning. In his memory, we continue to fight for positive opportunities for our students.
To help prevent the spread of Covid - 19 we will follow Local and State guidance. exhibitors must agree to follow social distancing rules, wear a mask and coordinate with parents/guardians for transportation to and from the school farm. The number of individuals at the school farm at any one time will be limited and strictly enforced. No food or drinks will be provided and their will be designated locations for parents to attend in person. A Limit of 2 guests per exhibitor. The show will also be live streamed by class.
